Fidji
, notre nouvelle petite F4 à ventre blanc (whited tummy);
Banyan Tree Fidji of Bali-Bengal
VENTRE BLANC officiellement reconnus sur les pédigrees;
pour élever ce merveilleux type de Bengals;
A big gratitude for Teresa Taylor for this
purfect girl F4, and her constant good relationship and serious
advice.
This
girl has nicely placed and large, richly coloured rosettes, no
barring, and a very wild looking head and face with Xtreme type,
true ALC profile, just like her mom, Mariah. Her underside is
a very bright T-shirt white. Her colouring (rosettes) are clouded
leopard-like. (Thanks
Teresa!)
Fidji
is from a whited dam and a whited sire. Her dam, Mariah, is over
2 years of age now so is considered an adult Whited cat and will
keep her White tummy. Fidji's sire, Kudo, is a Juvenile Whited
cat at 16 months of age. This means that the closer he gets to
the 18 month - 2 years of age mark, the most likely he will keep
his White tummy; that is the commonly held theory about the Whited
tummy breeder cats. The Whited cat ( same as for non-whited Bengals)
goes through the puberty stage at about 7-12 months for girls
and boys ( this can vary as in later, as well) and sometimes the
hormones can effect the Whited colour, by acting as modifiers,
and may make the Whited go to a cream colour. This is most evidenced
in breeding from Whited to non-Whited cats, but not always and
this can happen to a Whited to Whited cat breeding also, but much
less likely. It is always best to select a breeder kitten from
a Whited to Whited breeding; there are some lines that have come
from a cat with Whited Expression and Whited, that produces Whited
kittens. One must know what these lines are. There are also Whited
cats that have come from 2 non-Whited parents, but this is not
very common. There is still much to learn bout the genetics of
the Whited tummy breeding, and patience is a much needed virtue
in this type of Bengal breeding.
